1. Our community

Timule is a place-based memory service that allows people to create and revisit memories, contribute to memory journeys, communicate with others and share experiences connected to real places.

These community guidelines explain the behaviour and content we expect when you use Timule.

They apply to memories, revisits, profiles, journey content, comments, replies, messages, invitations, shared content, reports and other interactions through Timule.

Use Timule in a way that respects other people, their privacy, their safety, their rights and the places around you.

These guidelines provide additional rules alongside the Timule Terms & Conditions. They do not override the terms or any rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. Respect other people

Do not use Timule to harass, threaten, intimidate, bully, coerce or repeatedly contact someone who does not want contact from you.

Do not encourage others to target, shame or harass another person.

Disagreement, criticism and discussion are permitted, but they must not become threats, stalking, targeted abuse or other harmful conduct.

3. Protect privacy and location

Timule connects digital content with real-world places. Location information can reveal more about someone than they intended to share.

Do not use Timule to:

  • disclose another person's private address, routine or sensitive location without a lawful reason;
  • track, follow or monitor someone without permission;
  • identify where a child regularly lives, studies or spends time in a way that creates a safety risk;
  • encourage unwanted visits to a private residence or sensitive location;
  • secretly collect or publish private information in order to intimidate or harm someone.

Before sharing a memory linked to a home, school, workplace or another sensitive location, consider what other people may be able to infer from it.

4. Protect children and young people

Timule does not permit child sexual abuse or exploitation.

You must not create, upload, request, share, distribute, promote or facilitate:

  • child sexual abuse material;
  • sexualised images or videos involving minors;
  • grooming or attempts to establish contact with a child for sexual exploitation;
  • sexual extortion or threats involving a child;
  • requests for sexual images or sexual activity involving a minor;
  • content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children.

A claim that content is private, fictional, digitally created, humorous or shared only with selected people does not make abusive or exploitative material acceptable.

Where required by law, Timule may preserve relevant information and make reports to competent authorities.

5. Sexual and intimate content

Do not upload or distribute pornography or explicit sexual content through Timule.

Do not share intimate images or recordings of another person without their consent.

This includes digitally created, altered or manipulated intimate imagery where sharing it would violate another person's rights or applicable law.

Never use Timule to threaten someone with the publication of intimate content or to pressure them into providing sexual material.

6. Threats, violence and dangerous behaviour

Do not use Timule to make credible threats of violence, encourage violent criminal activity, promote terrorism or organise conduct intended to seriously harm another person.

Do not deliberately encourage people to enter dangerous, restricted or unsafe locations.

Do not create misleading location-linked content intended to lure another person into danger.

Content discussing difficult events, violence, public safety or newsworthy matters may be permitted where it is presented responsibly and lawfully.

7. Self-harm and dangerous challenges

Do not encourage, instruct or pressure another person to harm themselves.

Do not promote dangerous challenges, reckless behaviour or activities that create a serious and avoidable risk of injury.

Supportive, educational or recovery-focused discussion of self-harm may be permitted where it does not encourage harmful behaviour.

If a location, memory or interaction appears to create an immediate safety risk, report it through the available Timule reporting tools.

8. Hate and abusive conduct

Do not attack, threaten, dehumanise or encourage hatred against people because of protected characteristics or identity.

Do not use slurs or degrading content to target individuals or groups in a way that constitutes hateful abuse.

Discussion of social, historical or cultural issues is not prohibited simply because the subject is difficult or controversial, but it must not be used as a vehicle for targeted hateful abuse.

9. Illegal activity, scams and harmful services

Do not use Timule to organise, promote or facilitate unlawful activity.

You must not use Timule to:

  • run scams or deliberately deceive people for financial or other gain;
  • distribute malicious software or harmful files;
  • sell or arrange prohibited or illegal goods or services;
  • facilitate serious criminal activity;
  • knowingly distribute unlawfully obtained private information.

Where commercial or promotional content is otherwise permitted, you remain responsible for any disclosures, permissions and legal requirements that apply to it.

10. Impersonation and deceptive identity

Do not impersonate another person or organisation in order to deceive or harm people.

Do not falsely claim an affiliation, professional role, authority or relationship that you do not have.

Profile names do not necessarily need to be government-verified identities, but they must not be used to create a misleading identity for harmful or deceptive purposes.

11. Respect intellectual property

Only upload or share photographs, videos, music, text, artwork, trademarks or other material that you have the right to use.

Content being publicly available elsewhere does not automatically give you permission to republish it.

Music or other copyrighted material being audible in a recording does not automatically mean that you have permission to redistribute it.

Copyright exceptions and other lawful uses remain available where applicable law provides them.

If you believe your intellectual property is being infringed, use Timule's reporting tools or contact us.

12. Do not spam, manipulate or interfere with Timule

Do not:

  • send unsolicited bulk messages;
  • artificially manipulate engagement;
  • manipulate locations in order to deceive other users;
  • scrape private or restricted content;
  • interfere with Timule's security or operation;
  • circumvent access controls;
  • create accounts to evade enforcement;
  • knowingly submit malicious or false reports;
  • abuse invitations, sharing features or account systems.

Security research or other legitimate activity must remain lawful and must not place Timule users or systems at risk.

13. Use location-linked content responsibly

A Timule memory or pin is digital content associated with a location.

It does not:

  • give you permission to enter private property;
  • prove that a route is safe;
  • reserve or grant rights over a physical location;
  • authorise access to restricted areas;
  • prove that another user was physically present at a location.

Do not deliberately place misleading Memories or location markers in order to deceive, endanger, stalk or harass another person.

For camera, AR and physical-location safety, also read the Timule AR Safety Notice.

14. Reporting a concern

You can report relevant memories, accounts, comments, messages, locations or other content using the reporting tools available in Timule.

You may also contact:

admin@legacylabgroup.com

When reporting a concern, provide enough information for us to identify the relevant content, account or location.

Do not redistribute unlawful or abusive material merely to prove that it exists. Where possible, identify where it appears instead.

For urgent privacy or safety issues, clearly describe the urgency in your report.

15. What Timule may do when these guidelines are broken

We assess reports and other safety information in light of the seriousness of the issue, available evidence, context, repeated behaviour and applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, action may include:

  • reducing or restricting distribution;
  • removing content or a location placement;
  • restricting comments, messaging, sharing or other features;
  • temporarily suspending an account;
  • permanently terminating access;
  • preserving relevant evidence where required for a lawful purpose.

Where necessary to protect someone, prevent abuse or comply with law, we may take urgent action before notifying the affected user.

Not every contribution is reviewed before it appears on Timule, and no moderation system can guarantee that every harmful item will be identified immediately.

16. Appeals and mistakes

Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will explain a material moderation restriction and provide a way to request review.

If you believe a significant moderation decision was incorrect, contact:

admin@legacylabgroup.com

Use the subject:

Timule moderation appeal

Identify the decision and explain why you believe it should be reconsidered.

We may limit the information we provide where disclosure could create a safety risk, expose another person's private information or interfere with an investigation.

17. Changes to these guidelines

We may update these community guidelines when Timule changes, new risks emerge or legal requirements change.

The version number and last-updated date identify the guidelines currently in force.

Where a material change affects rules that users are required to accept, we will make the updated rules available through the appropriate Timule legal-acceptance process before relying on the new version.
